On 6 December 2023, the Permanent Mission of Russia to the EU held a New Year reception for the diplomatic corps accredited in Brussels. The event brought together heads and senior diplomats from the representations of more than 30 countries, as well as diplomatic missions of regional organisations (African Union, Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf) and the Secretariat of the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States.

In his welcoming speech, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Russian Mission to the EU Kirill Logvinov drew on the provisions of the Foreign Policy Concept of the Russian Federation to take stock of the outgoing year. He noted that intensified contacts with the diplomatic corps, both bilateral and multilateral, allowed to turn the Permanent Mission into a platform for an open, informal exchange of views between representatives of those countries that favour co-operation over confrontation, are truly committed to the establishment of a just multipolar world and believe that Russia, a distinct state-civilisation, will be the driving force behind this objective process.

To mark the Day of Military Glory celebrated in Russia on 5 December, a screening of the world-famous “Moscow Strikes Back” documentary was organised. The guests also viewed a photo exhibition featuring the key 2023 international events in which the leadership of our country took part.
