On 9 November 2021 Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Igor Morgulov received Managing Director for Asia and the Pacific of the European External Action Service Gunnar Wiegand.
During the meeting, an exchange of views was held on the state of affairs in security and cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region as well as future developments in the area. The officials discussed Afghanistan and the situation in Myanmar. Special consideration was given to preparations for the 13th Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) to be held on 25-26 November 2021.
