On 18 October 2023, the Permanent Mission of Russia to the EU hosted a reception dedicated to Russia's chairmanship in the institutions of the Eurasian Economic Union in 2023.
The event brought together heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Brussels from about 20 countries, including EAEU member states.
In his welcoming speech, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Russian Mission to the EU Kirill Logvinov outlined that today, the Eurasian Economic Union is a dynamically developing integration association. He stressed the equal and mutually beneficial nature of the relations the EAEU is building with third countries and regional organisations. The official emphasised how the priorities of the Russian chairmanship are connected with the tasks set forth in the updated Concept of Russia's Foreign Policy to establish an integrated economic and political space in Eurasia in the long term.
During the meeting, the diplomats exchanged views on the practical work of the EAEU and discussed topical international challenges and problems, including economic ones.
The guests watched a video on the Eurasian Economic Union and viewed a photo exhibition entitled "Splendours of Russia".
