President of Russia Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with President of the European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso.
The politicians discussed several current issues pertaining to relations between Russia and the European Union. Particular attention was given to the practical execution of the agreement to postpone implementation of Ukraine’s Association Agreement with the EU until January 1, 2016, achieved through trilateral consultations in Brussels on September 12.
Mr Putin and Mr Barroso noted the importance of maintaining a dialogue on ensuring uninterrupted supplies of Russian gas to Europe through Ukrainian territory.
During their exchange of views on settling the conflict in Ukraine, Vladimir Putin and Jose Manuel Barroso stressed the need for strict adherence to the ceasefire.
