On September 7, on the occasion of the opening of the 78th Session of the UN General Assembly, Heads of Missions of Member States of the Group of Friends in Defense of the United Nations Charter had a meeting at the Permanent Representation of Russia to the EU.
The participants had an informal exchange on the current international situation marked by numerous threats to multilateralism, including imposion of unilateral coercive measures and attempts to undermine efforts to tackle global challenges.
They agreed on the importance of further advancing the objectives of the Group, within the context of those fora where it has agreed to cooperate, as part of their common efforts to ensure the respect, promotion and defense of the UN Charter, both in its letter and spirit.
