On July 21, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov had a telephone conversation with Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Foreign Minister of Germany and OSCE Chairperson-in-Office. The call was initiated by Germany.
Acting in the spirit of the July 13 telephone conversation between the leaders of Russia, Germany and France, the foreign ministers of Russia and Germany discussed the situation in Ukraine in light of the need to implement the Minsk Package of Measures for the settlement of the internal Ukrainian conflict. Sergey Lavrov again pointed out that there is no alternative to direct dialogue between Kiev and Donbass, during which the parties should above all coordinate practical measures to implement the political process and settle security issues.
The ministers also talked about Russia-Germany relations.
