On 15 May 2020 Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Vershinin had a telephone conversation with EU Ambassador to Russia Markus Ederer.
They exchanged views on the prospects for work in the UN Security Council, including the implementation of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s initiative on convening a summit of permanent member states of the UN Security Council.
The Middle East settlement was also discussed in the context of continuing the efforts of the world community to move towards resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict on the existing international legal basis and the developments in Syria in the light of their consideration by the UN Security Council.
