6th round of negotiations of further visa facilitation and 9th session of Joint Committee for management of Russia-EU Visa Facilitation Agreement take place in Brussels

On 28 and 29 May 2013 the sixth round of negotiations on amending the Russia-EU Visa Facilitation Agreement, signed on 25 May 2006, and the ninth session of Russia-EU Joint Committee for management of the Agreement took place in Brussels.

The Russian delegation was led by Mr. Alexey Klimov, Deputy Director of the Consular Department of the MFA of Russia. The EU delegation was led by Mr. Jan De Ceuster, Head of Unit in the Directorate-General for Home Affairs of the European Commission.

The Parties discussed possible formulas related to visa-free regime for holders of biometric service passports. At the Joint Committee meeting a constructive dialogue took place on vital issues of implementation of the 2006 Agreement. 

Negotiations on amending the Russia-EU Visa Facilitation Agreement will be continued.
