Brussels Hosts International Conference in Support of UNRWA

On 16 November 2021 a Ministerial Conference in support of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) “Sustaining the Rights and Human Development of Palestinian Refugees” was held in Brussels, co-chaired by Jordan and Sweden.

In the course of the event, the Agency's top officials presented their strategic vision and plan of action for 2023–2028, called to ensure sustained donor support for the Organisation's on-going humanitarian projects and long-term objectives in providing assistance to Palestinian refugees in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and in the Gaza Strip and neighbouring Arab countries (Syria, Lebanon and Jordan).

For our part, we commended UNRWA efforts to provide multi-year comprehensive assistance to Palestinians in need, including in the areas of healthcare, education and humanitarian relief, which plays a crucial role in protecting their fundamental rights and ensuring decent life. We reaffirmed Russia’s commitment to continue its consistent support for the Agency's activities.
