A solemn ceremony is held in Brussels on the occasion of the 75th Anniversary of the Great Victory

On 9 May 2020 Permanent Representative of Russia to the EU Ambassador Vladimir Chizhov together with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Belgium Alexander Tokovinin and Acting Permanent Representative of Russia to NATO Yuri Gorlach participated in a solemn ceremony of laying wreaths and flowers at the Memorial and tombs of Soviet soldiers who died liberating Belgium from the Nazis and were buried at the Brussels cemetery in Evere and the Memorial to Members of the Belgian Resistance.

The heads of diplomatic missions laid flowers at the graves of heroes on behalf of all Russian diplomats and their family members, as well as foreign colleagues who were unable to attend the annual ceremony due to quarantine measures.
