Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Sergey Vershinin visits Brussels

On 13–14 March 2019 Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergey Vershinin who was taking part in the 3rd International Brussels Conference "Supporting the future of Syria and the region" held a number of bilateral discussions on issues related to Syrian settlement.

On the margins of the forum Sergey Vershinin met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Jordan Ayman Safadi, Secretary General of the European External Action Service Helga Schmid, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Tileuberdi and Deputy Foreign Minister of Belgium Axel Kenes.

An in-depth exchange of views was held with UN Secretary General Special Envoy for Syria Geir Pedersen and Special Envoy of the US Secretary of State James Jeffrey. The situation was also discussed in detail with Special Envoy of the Chinese Government on Syria Xie Xiaoyan.
