Russia – EU consultations on Latin America

Russia – EU consultations on Latin America and the Caribbean were held on 17 December 2018 in Brussels. Russian delegation was led by Ambassador Aleksander Shchetinin, Director of Department for Latin America of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia. The EU team was led by Ambassador Edita Hrdá, EEAS Managing Director for the Americas.

Russian and EU approaches were discussed to promoting cooperation with countries of Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as issues of implementation of the global agenda and addressing current challenges the region is facing, including migration and drug trafficking.
