Joint Seminar of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation and the European Economic and Social Committee

The 8th Joint seminar of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation and the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) named "Social Economy and Digital Revolution. Interaction between Russia and the EU" was held on 27 September 2018 in Moscow.

Participants of the seminar discussed the impact of digital technologies on the economies of Russia and the EU, including training of relevant personnel, digitalisation processes in agriculture, as well as possible contribution of business to addressing social problems. Representatives of the Civic Chamber and EESC shared best practices in the field of social entrepreneurship and discussed possible role of social economy in economic and social development.

The practice of joint seminars between leading civil society institutions of Russia and the EU has been maintained since 2008 in accordance with a bilateral Memorandum of Understanding.
