EU Judges Visit Russia

On 2-5 April 2012 at the invitation of the Russian Supreme Court of Arbitration a delegation of the European Court of Justice led by its President, Vassilios Skouris, paid a first official visit to Moscow and St. Petersburg.

In the course of the visit the delegation met the President of the Russian Constitutional Court, Valery Zorkin, President of the Supreme Court, Vyacheslav Lebedev, President of the Supreme Court of Arbitration, Anton Ivanov, as well as Minister of Justice, Alexander Konovalov and Deputy Foreign Minister, Alexander Grushko.

Members of the ECJ delegation took part in a conference organised by the European Studies Institute at the Moscow State University of International Relations.

During the meetings it was agreed to conduct such visits on a regular basis in turn in Russia and Luxembourg.
