39th Session and Ministerial Meeting of the Baltic Marine Environment Protection Commission (HELCOM)

A Russian interagency delegation headed by Director of the Department for International Cooperation of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation Nuritdin Inamov took part in the 39th Session and Ministerial Meeting of HELCOM held in Brussels on 5-6 March 2018. As an outcome of these events the Brussels Ministerial Declaration 2018 was adopted. The participants have also confirmed their readiness for further interaction to implement the Baltic Sea Action Plan.

In the margins of the events Mr. Inamov discussed with representatives of the European Commission (currently holding the rotating HELCOM Presidency) and the pertinent ministries of a number of Baltic Sea states the prospects of developing of further cooperation in the sphere of ecology, inter alia through enhancing project activities.
