On 22 August Deputy Foreign Minister and Special Presidential Representative for the Middle East and Africa Mikhail Bogdanov met with Ambassador Vygaudas Usackas, Head of the EU Delegation to Russia, at his request.

The officials discussed the situation in the Middle East and North Africa, primarily progress in the settlement of the Syrian crisis and the developments in Libya.
