EU-Russia expert consultations on OSCE and Council of Europe issues

 Consultations between Russia and the EU on OSCE and Council of Europe issues (COSCE) took place on the 10 June 2011 in Brussels. The Russian side was represented by Deputy Directors of the Department of European multilateral cooperation, Messrs. Nikolay Kobrinets and Alexander Kurmaz. Mr.Tierry Bechet, acting head of the EEAS’s Eastern Partnership, Regional Cooperation and OSCE Division headed the EU team. The Parties discussed such issues as implementation of the Astana OSCE Summit Declaration, Russia – ODIHR cooperation in the light of the forthcoming parliamentary elections in Russia, Council of Europe reform, situation in Belarus. Next round of COSCE consultations will be held in November in Brussels.
