Russia-EU Agreement on the protection of classified information

Signed at Rostov-on-Don of 1 June 2010 during the Russia-EU Summit, the Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the European Union on the protection of classified information entered into force on 1 September 2010. Such is the result of 5 year-long work by experts.

In accordance with the Agreement the Parties may exchange classified information, taking appropriate measures for its protection. This will increase efficiency of cooperation, in particular in the sphere of crisis management and fight against terrorism.

The Agreement is a vivid illustration of the Parties’ cooperation and their readiness to agree upon most delicate issues.
