State Secretary and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Grigory Karasin received on September 14 the newly appointed European Union Special Representatives for the South Caucasus, Philippe Lefort at his request.

During their conversation they exchanged views on Transcaucasia related problems, including the question of the European Union’s co-chairmanship in the Geneva Discussions. Themes of a Nagorno Karabakh peace settlement were also touched on.
