ASEM Senior Officials’ Meeting in Brussels

On 10-11 September 2015 an ASEM Senior Officials’ Meeting took place in Brussels. This forum has become a key interregional dialogue and cooperation format between Asia and Europe encompassing 53 partners, including the European Union and the ASEAN Secretariat. The Russian delegation was headed by Ambassador-at-Large Bakhtier Khakimov. The agenda focused mainly on the preparation for the 12th ASEM Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Luxembourg (5-6 November 2015).

Participants discussed initiatives for promoting practical cooperation within ASEM and the future of the forum in the context of celebration of the 20th аnniversary of ASEM in 2016.
