Head of the Russian Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Well-being takes part in the International High-level Conference in Brussels


Dr. Anna Popova, Head of the Russian Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Well-being (Rospotrebnadzor) takes part in the International High-level Conference “Ebola: From Emergency to Recovery”.

The Head of Rospotrebnadzor, Chief State Sanitary Physician of the Russian Federation, Dr.Anna Popova, led the Russian delegation at the international conference “Ebola: From Emergency to Recovery” which took place on 3 March 2015 in Brussels. Representatives of Rospotrebnadzor, EMERCOM of Russia and the Russian Permanent Mission to the EU formed the delegation. 

The Conference, organised by the European Union, provided a platform for discussions on the progress in response to the greatest ever outbreak of the Ebola virus, further steps towards full elimination of the disease, and possible ways of recovering the countries affected. 

The Conference brought together over 80 participants from West African countries, the European Union, other states which contributed significantly to the fight against the virus outbreak, high-level representatives of UN institutions, the World Bank, as well as NGOs and research centres. 

Dr. Anna Popova addressed one of the sessions of the Conference and presented a report on Russia’s contribution to global efforts in fighting the Ebola outbreak, as well as future vision of what should be done by the international community to raise the efficiency of response to such public health crises in future.
