Ambassador Vladimir Chizhov meets delegation of the UK House of Lords Committee

On 28 October 2014 Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the EU Ambassador Vladimir Chizhov hosted a meeting with a delegation of the European Union Committee of the House of Lords of the United Kingdom led by Lord Tugendhat. During the meeting held in an atmosphere of mutual interest and respect the parties addressed possibilities of bringing Russia-EU relations back on track of equal good-neighbourly cooperation. The Ambassador stressed the deadlock nature of the policy of increasing sanctions pressure on Russia chosen by the EU. He emphasised that only termination of the information campaign launched by the West against Russia and rapid resumption of Russia-EU dialogue along various channels will make it possible for both parties to proceed with the overdue work of eliminating the ingrained negative stereotypes towards each other.
