On 13 May 2020 Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko had a telephone conversation with Ambassador of the European Union to the Russian Federation Markus Ederer.
The officials discussed coronavirus-related developments in Russia and the EU countries, as well as providing aid to the CIS countries in order to counter the pandemic.
Andrey Rudenko and Markus Ederer also spoke about the current relations of the European Union and Russia with other CIS countries. They focused on the prospects of settling the intra-Ukrainian conflict in Donbass. The Russian side noted that Kiev must consistently implement the Minsk Package of Measures as well as the agreements of the Normandy format summit held in Paris on 9 December 2019. The importance of ensuring the objective work of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission in Ukraine was stressed.
