On 27 May 2019 experts from the Russian Federation and the European Commission held a regular video conference to discuss topical issues of bilateral cooperation in the area of information and communication technologies (ICT). The conference was co-chaired by Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Telecom and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mamonov and Deputy Director General of the European Commission for Communications Networks, Content and Technology Claire Bury.
Implementation of digital strategies in Russia and the EU, radio spectrum coordination with focus on 700 MHz, approaches of both sides to personal data protection and development of autonomous (driverless) vehicles, as well as prospects of Russia – EU ICT research collaboration, were among the topics discussed.
The next video conference is planned for this autumn.
