Within the framework of the Russia – EU political dialogue expert consultations on the Western Balkans (COWEB) were held in Brussels on March 9, 2011 with participation of Mr. Petr A. Ivantsov, Deputy Director-General of the 4th European Department, Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Mr. Jonas Jonsson, head of the Western Balkans division of the European External Action Service (EEAS).
Mr. P.Ivantsov also had a meeting with the EEAS Managing Director Mr. M.Lajcak.
A detailed exchange of views on recent developments in the region (including its European perspective) took place, with the main focus made on the political situation in and around Kosovo and Bosnia.
