On 2 July 2015 Nikolay Nikiforov, Russian Minister of Telecom and Mass Communications, met Günther Oettinger, Commissioner for Digital Economy and Society.
An exchange of views took place in a constructive manner on practical aspects of information and communication technologies development in Russia and EU, as well as on prospects of cooperation between Russian and EU companies on demonopolisation of the software market. Furthermore, the parties shared their approaches to Internet governance internationalisation.
