Press release on the meeting of Special Presidential Representative for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov with the head of the EU Delegation to Russia Vygaudas Ušackas
On 15 January, Special Presidential Representative for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov, met with the head of the EU Delegation in Moscow Vygaudas Ušackas at the latter’s request.
They exchanged views on the current situation in the Middle East with a focus on issues related to achieving a political settlement in Syria and Russia's initiative at the end of January 2015 to host advisory intra-Syrian meetings in the Moscow area as a step to organising an inclusive dialogue between the Government of the Syrian Arab Republic and the Syrian opposition on the basis of the Geneva communiqué of 30 June 2012.
