On February 28, 2011 Ambassador Vladimir Chizhov, Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the EU, addressed a session of the European Parliament Subcommittee on Human Rights devoted to the issue of effectiveness of the EU-Russia dialogue on human rights. A motivated exchange of views took place. Ambassador Chizhov answered questions of members of the European Parliament.
Ms Heidi Hautala, Chairperson of the Subcommittee on Human Rights of the European Parliament, Dr. Riina Kionka, Head of Unit for Human Rights Guidelines and Multilateral Cooperation of the European External Action Service, Mr. Richard Youngs, Director of the Spanish think-tank FRIDE and Mr. Bjorn Engesland of the Norway Helsinki Committee took part in the debate.
