On 22 June 2011 the second round of negotiations on updating of the Russia-EU Visa Facilitation Agreement, signed on 25 May 2006, took place in Brussels.
The Russian delegation was headed by Mr. Alexey Klimov, Deputy Director of the Consular Department of the MFA of Russia. The EU delegation was led by Mr. Jan De Ceuster, Head of Unit in the Directorate-General for Home Affairs of the European Commission.
The Parties made substantial progress in the discussion of possible amendments to the Agreement.
The next round of the negotiations is to take place in Moscow at the end of September.
