On 3 June, ahead of the Russia-EU summit, Strelna (St.-Petersburg, Russia) hosted a meeting between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Catherine Ashton, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice-President of the European Commission.
The parties discussed topical issues of international agenda with an emphasis on the situation around the Iranian nuclear programme and Syria.
