On 11 October Russian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Ryabkov met Pierre Vimont, Executive Secretary-General of the European External Action Service.
The parties discussed the situation in Syria and around, with special focus on issues related to destruction of chemical weapons. The Iranian nuclear programme was also considered in the light of the upcoming round of negotiations of the E3+3 group of international mediators with Iran on 15-16 October.
