Russia-EU summit

President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin took part in the Russia-EU summit.

Energy sector cooperation, simplifying visa rules, developing trade and economic cooperation following Russia’s accession to the WTO and the developments in Eurasian integration, and implementing the Partnership for Modernisation project were the main subjects of discussion at the summit’s working session.

The summit participants also discussed international issues, in particular the situation in North Africa and the Middle East. Discussion continued over a working breakfast.

Following the summit, Vladimir Putin, Jose Manuel Barroso, and Herman Van Rompuy gave a joint news conference.

Following the summit's official programme, its participants visited The Secrets of St Petersburg exhibition in the Konstantin Palace, featuring valuables and jewels found during the restoration of the Naryshkin family mansion on Tchaikovsky Street.
