Russia-EU expert consultations on OSCE and Council of Europe

Consultations between Russia and the EU on OSCE and Council of Europe took place in Brussels on 14 April 2016. The Russian side was represented by Deputy Directors of the European Multilateral Сooperation Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Alexey Polishсhuk and Alexander Kurmaz. Boris Iarochevitch, Head of the EEAS Division for Eastern Partnership, Regional Cooperation and OSCE, and Jonas Johnsson, Head of the EEAS Division for Multilateral Relations, led the EU team. A wide range of issues related to the OSCE and the Council of Europe agenda was discussed. Particular attention was given to the following issues: fight against terrorism and drug trafficking, migrant crisis in Europe, settlement of the conflict in the Donbass region on the basis of the Minsk agreements, and investigation of resonant crimes in Ukraine.
