On 26 June another round of expert consultations between representatives of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation and the DG Trade of the European Commission took place in Brussels. The participants assessed possible negative impact of the future EU-Ukraine Association Agreement on the Russian economy and its trade and economic relations with Ukraine and the EU. In particular, issues concerning fulfillment by Ukraine of its obligations under the CIS Treaty establishing a free trade area of 18 October 2011 were discussed.
The two sides touched upon the agenda of the forthcoming trilateral Russia-EU-Ukraine meeting at ministerial level on 11 July and agreed to remain in touch on these issues.
