On January 16, 2014 regular Russia-EU expert-level consultations on the Asia-Pacific region were held in Brussels. The Russian delegation was led by Ambassador Bakhtier Khakimov, Director of the Department of Asia and Pacific, MFA. The EU delegation – by Mr Viorel Isticioaia Budura, Managing Director of the Department of Asia and the Pacific, European External Action Service.
During the negotiations a detailed exchange of views was held on key issues of the regional agenda and prospects of the bilateral cooperation within existing multilateral formats in the Asia-Pacific Region.
