On 22 September 2014 a meeting of the Russia-EU Gas Advisory Council’s Work Stream on Internal Market Issues took place in Brussels. Participants included experts representing the Russian Ministry of Energy, gas sector organisations, think tanks and energy companies.
Discussions focused on the state and prospects of gas infrastructure development in Europe, as well as operation of energy markets.
The Gas Advisory Council was established in 2011 by decision of the Coordinators of the Russia-EU Energy Dialogue as a mechanism to assess future trends in the gas sector with the aim of reducing risks and using opportunities in EU-Russia gas cooperation. It is composed of three Work Streams involving leading gas experts from Russia and the EU.
