On May 30, State Secretary, Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin received the co-chairs of the Geneva Discussions on Security and Stability in the South Caucasus, specifically, EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus Toivo Klaar and Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office for the South Caucasus Guenther Baechler.
The sides exchanged opinions on the South Caucasus security situation, the situation on the border between Abkhazia, South Ossetia and Georgia, as well as preparations for a regular Geneva meeting, scheduled for June 19-20, 2018.
The sides reaffirmed their mutual intention to make the Geneva Discussions more effective as this would help strengthen peace and stability in the South Caucasus.
