President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin will visit Brussels on January 28 to take part in the 32nd Russia-European Union summit.

The summit will examine key issues on the bilateral agenda, focusing particularly on trade and economic cooperation and the prospects for introducing visa-free travel for short visits by Russian and EU citizens, energy sector cooperation and activating negotiations on a new basic agreement.

Ways for strengthening the strategic partnership between Russia and the EU and possibilities for interlinking the Eurasian and European integration processes will also be on the agenda.
