The 2012 European Russian Youth Forum «EU and Russia: Topical Trends in the Dialogue» was held on 23 April at the European Parliament in Brussels.
The Forum gathered several dozen representatives of Russian compatriots’ organizations in EU Member States, religious and youth organizations, as well as of Russian state agencies, EU institutions and the Council of Europe.
Mr. Alexander Romanov, Russian Ambassador to Belgium, Mr. Alexey Polishchuk, Deputy Permanent Representative to the EU, Mr. Valery Runov, Director of the Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Brussels, representatives of the Russian MFA and the Permanent Mission of Russia to the EU took part in the event.
Participants discussed issues related to Russia-EU relations, youth problems, as well as threats stemming from the rise of right-wing extremism in Europe.
Meetings of the European Alliance of Russian-Speaking Youth and the European Russian-Speakers Alliance were organized in its margins.
The European Russian Youth Forum is supported by the Russian MFA and the Russian Federal Agency for International Humanitarian Cooperation. The Russian Permanent Mission to the EU thanks the organizers of the Forum and particularly MEP Tatiana Zdanoka for their active role in holding this event.
