On 11 May Russian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Alexey Meshkov and EEAS Deputy Secretary General for Political Affairs Helga Schmid held consultations in the format of Russia-EU Political Directors in Moscow.
A substantial exchange of views took place on the current state and prospects of bilateral relations. The parties examined the schedule of bilateral contacts over the coming period. Need was emphasised to intensify cooperation between Russia and the EU on most topical international issues and join efforts to fight common threats and challenges.
