On 6-7 February Russian State Secretary / Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin met Secretary General of the European External Action Service Helga Schmid, Chairman of the EU Political and Security Committee Walter Stevens as well as EU Special Representatives for Central Asia and South Caucasus Peter Burian and Toivo Klaar.
The officials held a substantial exchange of views on the situation in the former Soviet Union area focusing on prospects for settlement of regional conflicts.
