On 24-25 April 2018 a joint hearing of Steering committee of the Parliamentary conference on WTO and the Committee on International Trade of the European Parliament "WTO: the way forward after Buenos Aires" and the 41st session of the Steering Committee took place in the European Parliament in Brussels.
The Russian delegation was headed by Alexey Mayorov, First Vice-Chairman of the Committee on Economic Policy of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.
Following the results of the discussions a declaration in support of an open trading system of the WTO based on rules of multilateral cooperation was adopted.
In the margins of the events Mr. Mayorov met with a number of Members of the European Parliament.
