The European political elite has succeeded in achieving the goal it set itself on the eve of the vote: the existing political landscape in the European Parliament has been left largely intact. The far right managed to strengthen its presence, but not its positions.

It is safe to say that the results of the elections have shown the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, to be the main winner - she has secured the support of the mainstream as the “European bureaucracy’s single candidate” and is now running for a second term with even greater confidence. Both the preservation of the centrist majority and the final preparations for Ursula von der Leyen's reappointment are presented as vital imperatives to ensure some sort of stability.

In reality, however, the only goal being pursued is to strengthen the existing system, which is aimed at maintaining the dominance of the EU and the United States on the world stage rather than solving the problems that concern the voters, especially in the area of migration - at the cost of actually turning the European Union into a centralised, ideologised and militarised pseudo-state. This means that, from now on, nothing can hinder the Eurobureaucracy from continuing on its chosen course.
