5th Murmansk International Business Week

On 14-18 November 2016 the Russian city of Murmansk is to host the 5th Murmansk International Business Week (MIBW) which provides a platform for addressing most topical issues related to the development of the Arctic Region.

The MIBW session will offer over 15 events. They include international conferences “Arctic shelf development: step by step”, “Mining in the Barents Euro-Arctic region: glance into the future”, “Women in social business: experience of the northern regions”, the tourist platform “Made in Arctic”, an investment session, and a series of academic debates.

The central event of the 5th MIBW will be the plenary session “Arctic course”. The discussion will focus on the draft federal law “On Development of the Arctic Zone of the Russian Federation” and ways to raise efficiency in cooperation between the Arctic regions of the Russian Federation. Development of international cooperation will be addressed as part of discussion on the Russian Chairmanship in the Barents Euro-Arctic Council in 2015-2017.
