The 10th Asia – Europe Parliamentary Partnership Meeting

On 27–28 September 2018 a delegation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation led by Andrey Klimov, Deputy Chairman of the Committee for International Affairs of the Federation Council, took part in the 10th Asia – Europe Forum’s (ASEM) Parliamentary Partnership Meeting in Brussels. The issue of climate change and its impact on economy, migration and security were top on the agenda of the event. 

Following the meeting a Declaration was adopted highlighting the role of ASEM as a unique binding platform between Europe and Asia, the need for collective efforts and multilateral approaches in counteracting climate change and its consequences, as well as addressing common problems and challenges the international community faces. The document stresses in particular the importance of promoting the principle of common and indivisible security.
